Ingredients:

  • 1 basket of fresh strawberries
  • 1 package of milk chocolate (our favorite are Wilton's Light Cocoa Candy Melts® Candy)
  • 1 tube of white decorating frosting or white chocolate chips
  • Wax or parchment paper
  • 1 gallon sized Ziploc bag (if using white chocolate chips)

Directions:

We recommend starting with strawberries that are at room temperature. Be sure to wash your strawberries and very thoroughly pat them dry; any water or moisture on the strawberries will "seize" the chocolate and make it difficult to work with. Using a microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate in intervals of 30 seconds, stirring the chocolate after each interval to smooth it out. Do not overheat the chocolate or it may burn.

Individually dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate. Be sure to lightly shake any excess off, and carefully place them onto cookie sheet (or plate) that is covered with wax paper. Allow strawberries to chill for about 20-mins to allow for chocolate coating to set and harden.

Use the white decorating frosting to illustrate the seams on the football. If you use white chocolate chips for this, carefully melt them again in 30 second intervals. (White chocolate can be very finicky, so pay extra attention NOT to overheat it while melting). Once the chocolate is melted spoon some into the Ziploc bag and snip a tiny hole in the corner to use as a make-shift piping bag to pipe the seams.

You can immediately serve them to your guests or chill them overnight to serve later!
