Inspired by my son's favorite video game, these cool mushroom cupcakes are a hit at any gamer-themed party.

Items Needed:

1 box cake mix and ingredients according to box to make cupcakes

1 container white frosting
-
red and green food coloring
-
white melt aways
-
white paper
-
marker
-
tape
-
ruler
Directions:
1. Bake the cupcakes according to the package.
2. While the cupcakes are baking, cut 3/4-inch wide strips from a piece of paper and then draw on little eyes to your liking. Make as many strips as you are cupcakes. Set aside. You will use this strip to wrap around the bottom of the cupcake once it is cooled.
3. You can also prepare the frosting while the cupcakes are baking. Take the container of frosting and split it evenly into two bowls. Add food coloring to create the desired color and stir. For lighter colors, use less food coloring.
4. Once the cupcakes are baked and cooled, remove the cupcakes from the pan, as well as the paper cupcake holders (if you used them).
5. Tape the strip of white paper that has the eyes on it, around the base or bottom of the cupcake.
6. Frost the top of the cupcake and then place 4 meltaways on top of it.
7. Enjoy!
