My #RedKettle Reason - Raising Charitable Children

‘Tis the season for The Salvation Army’s signature Red Kettle Campaign! Every year, between Thanksgiving and Christmas, The Salvation Army collects donations with their iconic Red Kettles in front of stores and on street corners nationwide. The money collected provides meals and shelter for families and Christmas toys for millions of children during the holiday season. The donations also supply necessary resources for social services programs year-round such as substance abuse programs, domestic violence respite, counseling services, and military veteran assistance programs.

Here’s how YOU can get involved! This holiday season The Salvation Army is launching the #RedKettleReason campaign to encourage people everywhere to share their reasons for supporting The Salvation Army. My own reasons include being a role model for my children. I hope that by volunteering together as a family, my children will pay it forward and give back to future generations. Watch more of my reasons below in my #RedKettleReason video.

And now it’s your turn!

This year, when you share a video describing your #RedKettleReason video, you could win an all-expenses paid trip to NYC to go on The Salvation Army "Giving Spree,” a shopping spree for children in need in your own local community. Amazing, right?! To enter for a chance to win, record a video describing your #RedKettleReason, explaining why you give back to the red kettles during the holidays and why your community deserves to win. Then tweet a link to your video on Twitter using the hashtags #RedKettleReason and #GivingSpreeSweeps. For judging criteria, submission deadlines and further details about The Salvation Army Giving Spree, visit RedKettleReason.org.

What is your #RedKettleReason?
