Cottontail Bunny

Here comes Peter Cottontail...coming down the bunny trail. Create this darling Easter bunny craft and use as spring decor.

Items Needed:

  • 1 toilet paper roll
  • 2 googly Eyes
  • 2 small white puff balls
  • 2 small pink puff balls
  • Pink Construction Paper
  • White Construction Paper
  • Black Marker
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Tape
  • Glitter pen (optional)
  • Fishing line (optional)

Note: Before you start assembling the Easter Bunny, it's a good idea to have the hands, feet, ears and teeth cut out and decorated (optional).

Directions:

1. Using the pink construction paper, make the hands and feet by cutting out 4 rectangles about 1 inch long and 1/2 inch wide. Round the top of the rectangles. Set aside. Then, using more pink construction paper, cut out two ears. Decorate with glitter pen and then set aside. For the teeth, cut out a small rectangle (about 1/2 inch x 1/2 inch) and cut a small slit in the middle. Set aside. If you are using fishing line for the whiskers, cut three 4 inch whiskers. Set aside.

2. Cover a toilet paper roll with pink construction paper and glue it on.

3. If you are using fishing line for the whiskers, tape them to the middle of the tube. If you are not using fishing line for your whiskers, draw three sets of whiskers using the black marker in the middle of the tube.

4. Next, glue on the teeth in the middle of the whiskers (to cover the tape) and then two small white cotton balls above the teeth.

5. Above the white cotton balls, glue a pink cotton ball.

6. Above the pink cotton ball, glue on the googly eyes and draw little eyelashes.

7. Glue the hands and feet on the sides of the body.

8. Glue the ears onto the top of the tube.

9. Finally, glue the last pink cotton ball onto the back of the bunny for its tail.
