Simple Instructions:

To soften the cookies, start by microwaving them on a paper towel for approximately 10 seconds. Immediately after removing them from the microwave, cut each cookie in half to make semi-circles.  Use a gentle sawing motion with your knife to prevent cracking.  It’s a good idea to have some extra cookies on hand in case a few break. Melt the Wilton Key Lime Pie Candy Melts in a microwave safe container for 1 ½ -2 minutes on 50% power stirring every 30 seconds until smooth. One at a time, dip the cookies completely in the candy melts until coated and put on a plate covered with wax paper. Repeat for all of the cookie halves and then place in the refrigerator for at least one hour to set. Once the candy coating has hardened, remove them from the refrigerator and use the Wilton Green Sparkle Gel to draw a semi-circle around the curved base of the cookie to become the lime peel. Using the Wilton White Sparkle Gel, create the sections of the lime by first drawing an upside down “V” from the center of the flat portion of the cookie, down to the green peel. Finish by drawing two additional diagonal lines from the same center point to the outer portions of the semi-circle.  Let the frosting set prior to serving.
