Simple Instructions:
Using a black sheet of construction paper, trace the circumference of the top of a can or lid that is slightly larger than the opening of the cup. Cut out and this will become the base of the hat. Cut out the bottom of the paper cup and then gently flatten in half. In a straight line, cut off the bottom of the cup, about 3/4 -1 inch up so the crayons will be able to stick out of the top. Using a glue gun, line the rim of the top of the cup and then attach to the black construction paper circle. Allow to dry.
Cut a 3/4 - 1 " strip of brown construction paper and wrap around the base of the hat using the glue gun. Cut out a buckle with the yellow construction paper. Glue the buckle to the center of the belt. Once dry, fill the pilgrim hats with crayons.
Cover the children's table with the butcher paper. Set several of the crayon filled pilgrim hats on top of the butcher paper "tablecloth".
