Simple Healthy Snacks in a Snap

This school year, fuel your kids’ bodies and brains with snacks moms can feel good about! has compiled, simple after-school snacks that can be put together in a snap! Featuring high protein, lower fat and fruit & veggie options, these healthy and hearty snacks have ingredients to keep kids’ energy going for homework and after-school activities.

  • Turkey & Cheese Roll-Ups – A protein packed treat that keeps the kids going after school.  Simply wrap a slice of deli turkey around a low-fat cheese stick.
  • Hummus & Pita Chips – With so many varieties of hummus to choose from, have fun exploring new flavors with your kids.
  • Fruit Kabobs – These colorful treats can be customized with seasonal fruit that is available.  Try layering strawberries, nectarines, melon, grapes and other berries.
  • Kids’ Choice Snack Mix – The kids are in control on this one.  Give them options of ingredients including raisins, goldfish, pretzels, crackers, whole grain cereal and other favorites that they can mix and match.
  • Veggies & Dip – Adding dip makes everything better!  Serve carrots, celery, cucumber or other favorite veggies with low fat ranch dressing.

  • FroYo Blueberries - Using toothpicks, pick up cold blueberries and dip them into the Greek Yogurt and drop onto wax paper or aluminum foil. Place blueberries and wax paper in the freezer until yogurt is frozen. Remove blueberries from wax paper and place into a Tupperware container and store in freezer for easy, healthy and delicious snacking.
