What You'll Need:

1 tube pre-made refrigerated sugar cookie dough (you can also make your own sugar cookie dough)

Heart-shaped cookie cutter - medium sized

12 cookie pop sticks or popsicle sticks

Cake or cookie frosting – pink, red, & white

Sprinkles, shredded coconut, decorating gel, or any edible decorations you like

Simple Instructions:
Preheat the oven per the cookie dough box instructions. Flour a clean, dry surface and roll out cookie dough to approximately 1/4 inch thick. Press the heart-shaped cookie cutter into the dough and trim the edges. Place approximately 6 cookie pop sticks on each baking sheet, leaving ample space in between. Transfer each dough heart using a spatula and gently place on top of a cookie pop stick with at least 1 1/2 - 2 inches of dough overlapping the stick. Press down gently on the cookie dough to ensure the stick will attach while baking. If you are planning to decorate the cookies with only sprinkles and no frosting, decorate the top of each cookie before baking. If you prefer to frost the cookies, bake according to package instructions. Let cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes, then gently use a spatula to remove from the pan and place on aluminum foil. Decorate with frosting and sprinkles as desired once completely cooled. Store the cookies in an air-tight container to keep fresh.
