Franken Granola Bars

Instead of serving cookies at your kids' Halloween party this year, start with low fat granola bars to create these friendly Frankenstein treats.

What You'll Need:

  • 6 Granola bars (we prefer crunchy)
  • 1 cup Wilton Candy Melts - green
  • 24 Wilton Candy Eyes (in baking aisle)
  • Chocolate jimmies sprinkles
  • Black food writer pen

Simple Instructions:

Gently cut each granola bar in half so you have 12 rectangular pieces. In a microwave safe container, melt the green candy melts at 50% power for 1 1/2 - 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.

Using a knife, spread the green melts onto the top 2/3 of each granola bar and also coat the sides. You can leave the backside uncoated. Sprinkle chocolate jimmies along the top 1/4 inch of the bar to create Frankenstein's hair. Apply 2 candy eyes. Put them in different positions on each monster to create personality.

Place on a plate and let candy melts harden completely (you can also put in the refrigerator but let them come back to room temperature before applying the "stitches")

Once set, draw stitches onto each Frankenstein using a black food writer pen.
