Hot Cocoa Candy Canes

Add some festive flavor to your hot cocoa this holiday season with marshmallow candy canes. Hot cocoa candy canes make a great display for your dessert table or hot cocoa and coffee station.


  • 12 Large marshmallows
  • 24 Miniature peppermint candy canes
  • 1 Bag milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips

Simple Instructions:

Prepare the marshmallows for dipping by placing the straight end of a miniature candy cane into the top of each marshmallow. This makes it very easy for dipping into the melted chocolate. Crush the additional candy canes in a plastic bag using a rolling pin or poultry mallet until they are in small pieces. Place the crushed candy canes into a bowl. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl on 70–80 percent power for 1½–2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds. Repeat until completely melted. Dip the marshmallow into the melted chocolate until the bottom and sides are completely coated, using a spoon to help cover and smooth. Roll each chocolate-covered marshmallow in the crushed candy canes. Serve with hot cocoa.
