Simple Instructions:

Pre heat oven per cookie mix instructions. Prepare cookie dough as indicated on package for cutout cookies. Use extra flour as necessary so dough is not too sticky.  Flour a clean, dry surface and roll out cookie dough to approximately ¼ inch thick. Press cookie cutter into dough and trim edges.  Transfer to cookie sheet using a spatula. Leave at least one inch in between each cookie as they will expand when baking.  Gently insert cookie pop stick into bottom of each one being careful not to alter the shape.  If you are planning to just decorate with sprinkles (no frosting), add sprinkles before baking.  If you prefer to frost the cookies, bake according to package directions.  Let cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes and the gently place on aluminum foil.  Decorate with frosting and sprinkles as desired once completely cooled.
