Chicks on Sticks

It wouldn’t be springtime without some cheeky chicks. These fun marshmallow pops can be made in minutes and double as a darling centerpiece.

What You’ll Need:

  • 12 large marshmallows
  • 12 bamboo skewers
  • Water
  • 1 container yellow sugar sprinkles
  • White cake frosting
  • 6 orange M&M’s® or candy coated chocolates
  • 24 round black sprinkles (usually part of a mix) or black decorator gel

Simple Instructions:

Insert a bamboo skewer into the bottom of each of the marshmallows. Fill a glass with water and dip each marshmallow into the water and submerge for 5 seconds. Hold the marshmallow over the top of a plate and sprinkle the yellow sugar onto the marshmallow, turning until completely coated. You can also roll the marshmallow in the excess sugar that has fallen onto the plate to complete your coating. Let the marshmallows dry for a few minutes by arranging vertically in a tall glass. Try to avoid having them touch each other.  While the marshmallows are drying, cut each of the orange M&M’s® in half using a knife. Using a toothpick or a small knife, apply a small amount of white frosting to the flat, chocolate side of the candy and apply horizontally to the middle of the marshmallow as the beak.  Apply two black sprinkle eyes above the beak using frosting or draw eyes with black decorator gel. Display in a tall glass.
