Marshmallow Pops

These yummy treats are as fun to make as they are to eat.  They can also serve as a great centerpiece for a party if you display them in a festive vase.

Ingredients:

  • Bamboo skewers (kabob sticks)
  • Large marshmallows
  • Milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Holiday sprinkles and decorator gels & frostings

Simple Instructions:

Pour chocolate chips into a microwave safe glass.  I recommend a narrow glass rather than a bowl so that the chocolate is deeper and easier to dip the marshmallows into.  Microwave for 30 seconds at a time for a total time of  1 ½ -2 minutes total, stirring after each segment.  Place 1 large marshmallow on each skewer and dip into melted chocolate.  Use a spoon to cover the entire marshmallow with the chocolate.  Once the desired amount of chocolate is achieved,  place skewer in a tall glass (marshmallow sticking out of the top) to set the chocolate.  If you are adding sprinkles,  apply them before putting the marshmallow pops in the refrigerator to cool.  If applying frosting or decorator gel,  allow pops to chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to set the chocolate and then apply frosting.
