Simple Sock Snowman

This simple sock snowman is sure to make you smile! An easy craft to make with the kids from items you already have at home.

What You'll Need:

• 1 long white adult tube sock - preferably all white with no design
• Scissors
• 3 rubber bands
• 1 1/2 cups rice (dry)
• Hot glue gun
• 2 googly eyes
• 1 orange bead or sequin (for nose)
• 2 medium sequins or buttons
• 6-8 " inch long strip of scrap fabric (approximately 1" thick)
• Small colored pom pon (optional)

Simple Instructions:

Cut off the leg portion of the sock (approx. 4 inches) so it is open on the top and the bottom. Set aside. Using the foot portion, turn the sock inside out and secure a rubber band to the tip of the toe. Turn the sock right side out again. Fill the sock with 3/4 - 1 cup of dry rice. Twist and use a rubber band to secure the bottom part of the snowman. Add 1/4 - 1/2 cup of rice to the next part of the sock so it is slightly smaller than the lower portion and then secure a rubber band on the top. Don’t worry about the uneven part at the top as it will get covered by his hat later.

Using a hot glue gun, attach 2 eyes, the orange nose and the buttons. You can use any beads, sequins or buttons you can find at home. Wrap the piece of fabric around the snowman's neck as a scarf.

Lastly, use the leg portion of the sock as the snowman's hat. Place the top part of the sock on the snowman's head to create the rim of the hat and then fold forward. You can add a pom pon or sequin to the tip of the hat to decorate.
